Let's dive into the incredible story of Koko Ono, a remarkable addition to our AoFrio family. Koko, originally hailing from Japan, just outside the vibrant city of Tokyo, has called the beautiful land of Aotearoa her home for the past 18 years. Her journey, however, is nothing short of extraordinary.

Koko's professional path initially led her through the world of hospitality, where she wore many hats, from being a restaurant chef to catering for private events and functions of various sizes. Despite her success in this industry, she felt a compelling need for change and a shift in her career.

In 2020, a stroke of luck brought Koko's attention to a Web Developing Bootcamp course while browsing the internet during her free time. Driven by curiosity, she enrolled, not fully realizing the transformative journey that lay ahead. To her surprise, she was accepted, which she took as a sign that a positive career change was on the horizon. The course presented an entirely new learning experience for her, filled with exciting challenges that pushed her boundaries. Through unwavering perseverance, commitment, and dedication, Koko secured a Net Internship at a prominent SaaS company in 2022, an achievement that only a select few interns attained.

After successfully completing her internship, Koko's path led her to AoFrio, where she was hired on a short-term basis as an intern and introduced to the wonderful world of high-tech innovation that involves monitoring and controlling temperatures within refrigerators. Coming from a background in culinary arts, she found this transition fascinating and invigorating.  After completion of the internship Koko’s contribution and efforts were recognized with the offer of a full time role within the AoFrio team.

In her own words, "I am grateful for the flexibility, support, and learning opportunities that I get at AoFrio. The team is not only helpful and professional but also incredibly friendly, both at work and outside of it!"

Apart from her passion for coding and development, Koko is an avid football (soccer) enthusiast, both on and off the field. Recently, she ventured into trying out pickleball, a fun racket or paddle sport that bears resemblance to tennis. Notably, she achieved the remarkable feat of completing her first full marathon run.

When she's not immersed in sports or work, Koko indulges her love for travel. She explores new landscapes, immerses herself in diverse cultures, and savors different cuisines, whether it's a local getaway or an international adventure.
